Deuteronomy 6:5


Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength ~ Deuteronomy 6:5

Love God above all. Love God because He is perfect in all ways. He judges with righteousness, not with changing emotions such as how we judge. Love God because he is gracious when we do not deserve his grace. Love God because He is faithful and trustworthy. Love God because His hand is extended toward you, because His providence cares for you, because He wants to be in relationship with you. Love God because His blessings are bestowed upon you. And love Him with all of your affections, with great fervency of spirit; with a sincere soul, love Him. Love Him with an undivided heart which is obedient toward His commands. Love Him with a servant heart of self-surrender to your Maker, and He will make your way blessed.

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans ~ Romans 8:26 Many days, many times, I have the words for prayer. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert ~ Isaiah 43:19 When we meet a challenge, we are often found discouraged, lost, even hopeless. Nothing is working, everything seems to be against us. We do not know how to move forward, so we remain curled up in a ball. Then, a glimmer of light shines through!
