John 8:12

 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." ~ John 8:12

 

“Satan said to the holy and blessed God, For whom dost thou reserve that light which is under the throne of thy glory? God answered: For him who shall subdue thee, and overwhelm thee with confusion. Satan rejoined, Lord of the universe, show that person to me! God said, Come and see him. When he saw him, he was greatly agitated, and fell upon his face, saying, Truly this is the Messiah, who shall cast me and idolaters into hell." (Yalcut Rubeni, fol. 6). What an interesting paragraph! Most certainly, Jesus is the light of the world and Satan will be cast into the lake of fire when He returns, and the Kingdom of Light will be established forever in Jesus’ name! As we wait for that eternal kingdom, we walk spiritually with Jesus by faith, by believing in the coming of Christ, not only in the future, but in the present. We live day by day with His light in our heart shedding His truth into the world of misconceptions, into the world’s emptiness and darkness. Our eyes are opened in new ways when Jesus is in our heart, for no more should evil, or misery rule in our life. We are a transformed people! For those who follow Jesus are now out of danger of going astray in life, for as a moth is drawn to a lamp, so we are drawn to Christ. In Him we find Life, for in Him we receive a union not beforehand conceived; we are joined to the Lord of Light. Our soul receives Christ into the self, is nourished by Him, and makes Him one with all our parts and feelings and carries Him in our life-blood just as oxygen is carried throughout our body. He is our life, He is our light, He is our Spiritual Sun!

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness.
