Psalm 85:2

You forgave the iniquity of your people and covered all their sins ~ Psalm 85:2

Sin is not a word the world uses much anymore. They bring it all down to choices, but not to good or evil choices, just choices. If they go through pain because of those choices, oh well, it was the world which caused them, or someone else. The thought processes don’t come back to the fact that they opposed what God set as sin which brings grief of all kinds to us when we live in it. Even in the church the word sin is not often spoken. In some churches that is. The truth is we were all born in sin, and we sin from the time we are little onward. Sin is a part of this world, and a part of us when we enter it. I watch my little great niece who already has learned well the art of manipulation through pouting and fake crying. It is cute to watch for sure, but an adult which chooses ways to manipulate others is a different story altogether. If we do not have loving parents to correct us, we will carry on our bad behaviours. God corrects us too. We are his children, and his Holy Spirit will guide us into his righteousness. Which is where our scripture leads us, for all our sin has been forgiven and wiped out, but at a cost. The cost was on God himself, for he sent his Son Jesus to die on the cross, taking our sin upon himself. We are covered under the blood of Jesus Christ. As my sister shows little Lily how to get what she needs without manipulation, so God shows us that right living comes through the saving grace of Jesus Christ who has forgiven us through his sacrifice. We do not need to work for this gift of forgiveness, it is freely given. Once we do receive it, as a child is called to obey mommy and daddy, so we are called to live in obedience to our Father God and his commandments. Thank you, Jesus, for covering my sins and bringing me into your family, and into righteous living.
