Colossians 3:16

Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts ~ Colossians 3:16

How blessed we are to have an emotionally rich and healthy body of Christ which uplifts those who are a part of her by prayer, by words of advice, and by fellowship. Especially in the body of Christ we are to uphold each other. How lonely is the person who does not have someone to help them through life situations? I am helping a man right now who does not know Christ and he has no family. God has placed me in his life for now to help him and I am discovering how he has been let down by his age, if one can say that. Without help address changes, health care, emotional support – all the basics of Canadian life have bypassed him. It has been devastating for me to watch and difficult at times to help him. I wonder how someone like him would manage, which of course he has not been able to do. Even making a phone call to change an address goes through a hoop of pushing different numbers on the phone and going through different departments to reach the correct one and it is all very frustrating. When we are there for each other our support systems help us to strengthen us in our Christian walk, guide us through our challenges, and uplift our spirits that God is walking with us through those he sends to us. Our hearts are made light knowing God cares for us through the hands and feet of others. He is a loving God and calls us to love each other, giving him all the praise and the glory. As we draw closer to our Canadian Thanksgiving weekend, we give thanks for those people God has put into our life, for those strengths we receive from each other and for the gift of a God who watches over us. Sing your song today, with gratitude in your heart!
