Isaiah 40:28

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow weary, and his understanding no one can fathom ~ Isaiah 40:28

There are times when we are in the winter of our soul, and we wonder where God is, what He is doing, why He is taking so long to act? Has He forgotten me, and that I need Him? Oh, my friends, we really are no different than the Israelite people we read about in the Old Testament. We too have seen signs of the Lord moving and acting in our life, yet, when we find God isn’t behaving our way, we begin our of questioning Him. Isaiah here is reprimanding the Israelites for forgetting. They had forgotten their history of Egypt, the Passover and the Red Sea, of the manna in the dessert, of the conquest of the land and the plenty found therein. We forget too. But we should not. The Lord is never changing, always constant, ever ready to forgive, to heal, to comfort, to correct, to walk beside. The Lord does not forsake His own. He does not go to bed and sleep through your prayers, He does not hibernate in the winter of your soul. He is there, waiting for the proper time to bring about that which is better than you can ever imagine. Do you not know? Have you not heard? He is here forever and ever and knows you through and through. He is the Lord!
