Matthew 6:11


Give us today our daily bread ~ Matthew 6:11

Give us the provision we need today, Lord, whether that be our next meal to sustain our body, or whether that be the food which will nourish our soul. We come to you hungry for your filling. David once wrote his “cup runneth over” (Ps 23). You gave him more than enough for the day, it was in fact, an abundance. We ask for only that which we need today. We ask it from you, who are the Great Giver, and we ask it not because we deserve it, but because we are dependent upon you, Lord. You are the Granter of our mercies, for our necessities are great and our memories are short. You know our needs, Lord, so we come to you and ask. May our body and our soul be not left in want, but may we find in You all we need.
