Matthew 6:33


But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well ~ Matthew 6:33

To seek His kingdom here on earth is universal, for it is a call to all of humanity to willingly subject themselves to God’s will. It is a universal call to make Him Lord of your life, all aspects of your life, so that His righteousness might reign in you. It does not matter if you are an angel, or the Church at large, or an individual; God is to be King over all. The call for this type of life, says Jesus, is not for outward show, but for inner resolve. It is spiritual. It is new life. It is brought out of the “born again” experience. It is to seek how to live as Christ, with integrity and honour. And, it is to look at how this life extends into the next life, for not only is His kingdom here within us, but His kingdom is to come for eternity. So, be diligent in seeking, in desiring, in looking for the treasure in the field that is above all treasures.

Fools find no pleasure in understanding but delight in sharing their own opinions ~ Proverbs 18:2 If we are going to understand something, we must fully digest it so that when we speak, we speak with wisdom. When we have only half truths in our mind, our words become empty and senseless. We then puff out air rather than understanding when we speak. A wise person will want to improve their mind through learning in various ways from the world around them. A person who delights in spiritual understanding will find peace and enjoyment in reading the Word of God on a daily basis, and in participating with God’s people in a learning and praising environment – the church! We come together in corporate worship with the understanding that not one of us knows all things, but we bend our mind and heart to learn what God has to show and say to us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness ~ 1 John 1:9 Sin exists in the soul in guilt which requires forgiveness or pardon, and in pollution which requires cleansing. Guilt, to be forgiven, must be confessed, and pollution, to be cleansed, must also be confessed. In the act of confession, we admit we are a sinner, and our acts, whether involving another or not, always involve God. It is not only to the other we must confess and seek forgiveness, but we must confess before God! When we come to Him that is sinless, holy, pure, just and faithful we can apply for pardon just as we would in a court of law before a judge. In order to get a clean heart, we must acknowledge our wickedness before God, we must condemn it before God, so He may purify our soul.
