Psalm 34:10b

Those who seek the Lord lack no good thing ~ Psalm 34:10b

There is an advantage of seeking the Lord, for the one who seeks always finds. Jesus does not play hide and seek with us, hiding behind a tree or a fence, testing to see if we will keep searching until we are worn out from it. We search for One who is near to us, who delights in being found, in having communion with those who seek for Him. For the truth be told, when I am seeking for Him, He has already been seeking for me. God provides all that I need to find Him, namely, that if I turn my thoughts toward Him, if I desire Him, He will be found. God is everything to us, or should be, and everything else in comparison is nothing, therefore, if I want Him, I will find Him. If we seek Him in truth, what we find will be what we need. What we do not need, we will not get.

Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded ~ James 4:8 Know that God is approachable! When we come near to Him in prayer, in supplication, He will meet you right where you are. While we are drawing near to Him, He is drawing near to us. James inserts a cleansing motion here, to wash the hands. It refers to our conduct, and is essentially saying it must be changed. The washing of hands was a way of showing purification and innocence, and so as we come before God, this must be our attitude.   2 Thessalonians 2:15 So then brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.   I read a quote on Facebook that stated the church does not determine what we preach, the Bible determines what we preach. Those may not be the exact words, but they were much like what I quoted from Facebook. Most certainly, this thought is reflected in the letter to the Thessalonian church – you are to pass on the teachings sent to you by word or letter. The culture of the world around us has invaded our minds and thoughts, and our churches. No longer can one count on the truth of the Bible strictly taught in our churches of today, well, not all churches. Some churches become a place for “show” rather than true spiritual teaching. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness ~ 1 John 1:9 Sin exists in the soul in guilt which requires forgiveness or pardon, and in pollution which requires cleansing. Guilt, to be forgiven, must be confessed, and pollution, to be cleansed, must also be confessed. In the act of confession, we admit we are a sinner, and our acts, whether involving another or not, always involve God. It is not only to the other we must confess and seek forgiveness, but we must confess before God! When we come to Him that is sinless, holy, pure, just and faithful we can apply for pardon just as we would in a court of law before a judge. In order to get a clean heart, we must acknowledge our wickedness before God, we must condemn it before God, so He may purify our soul.
