John 10:10

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full ~ John 10:10

What are your hidden secrets? What has your past done to you? Herein lies a power the enemy has over you. Secrets are places where lies form, grow, and multiply. They distort the truth of who you are, or what has happened to you in the past; they lie there ready to pounce when you least expect it. They rise up when you begin to move ahead, and they remind you of your lack of worth, or your inability, or of the words which were spoken over you when you were young. “You are worthless,” “You will never amount to anything!” “You were the reason for...” The enemy of our soul uses every vice he can to bring us down, to set us back, to hold us in the prison of our defeat. Oh, but praise God, for the verse does not end in what the enemy can do to us, but in what Jesus did for us! He gives us life, His light shines in the darkness of the secrets we hide and the past we encountered! Let the Light into your secrets and the truth will shine forth! I have seen, been with those who encountered the truth to their secrets and it has made life-changing effects in their life! Life is what JESUS gives us, life in His death and resurrection, healing in His power and Holy Spirit grace. It takes our opening up and speaking the secrets to the light, and it is hard! It takes courage and strength, for the enemy knows that if we keep our secrets he has power over us. Freedom comes in openness, in the revealed truth, in the power of Jesus to lift our shame!

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans ~ Romans 8:26 Many days, many times, I have the words for prayer. I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert ~ Isaiah 43:19 When we meet a challenge, we are often found discouraged, lost, even hopeless. Nothing is working, everything seems to be against us. We do not know how to move forward, so we remain curled up in a ball. Then, a glimmer of light shines through!
