Hebrews 10: 35, 36

So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised ~ Hebrews 10:35, 36

There are many instances in life where we find perseverance is our only recourse. I have watched people persevere to receive a higher education, or to make a marriage work, or to obtain a better job. Perseverance can be present in any aspect of our life wherein we want and desire something so much that we will do almost anything to receive what we believe is our reward. For perseverance to do its work, there almost always has to be an inherint need. Herein is where our scripture leads us today. Perseverance in doing God’s will in our life must arise from a committed heart, desiring above all, to please God. If my heart is not dedicated to God wholly, doing his will in my life will not be my priority, and I will give up when the going gets tough. The writer of Hebrews tells us to not throw away our confidence, and this confidence is in a God who promises eternal life, peace, hope of a new tomorrow, redemption of sins, mercy and grace to be bestowed upon us, and in the end, a crown upon our head which will be to His glory. Stay strong in your faith. God does and will reward the faithful.
