1 Corinthians 1:25

For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength ~ 1 Corinthians 1:25

Through my years as a pastor, I have taken courses or looked at programs to study how to develop the church further in a declining Christian world. Books have been written on vision plans for the church so as to know their church’s “ministry goals.” Books have been written telling us how to plan for growth, success, grow disciples, develop dedicated tithers. As good as all those books are, and I do believe many have good advice for us as church leaders, God is bringing more people back to Him today than at any time we have known in our lifetime. Not one author could have written the book we are now writing as a Church Universal. Because a virus has invaded the world, more people now are searching for God, searching for answers to all life’s questions, which includes what will happen when I die. God did not cause this virus, I want to make that clear from my own belief in who God is. God loves us beyond any love we can imagine, and the Old Testament images of an angry, vengeful God is not the God Jesus Christ showed the world. Jesus said, “If you have seen me you have seen the Father.” God is using these times to His glory though. Just as He used the Cross and the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ to remove the dividing line between sin and holiness, so today our churches are growing because people are awakening to the fact that God is real and He is the only answer to our questions. God is not foolish, neither is He weak. Our condition as human beings cannot understand God’s ways nor His strength. The cross of Christ was supposed to be the end, but it was the beginning! The virus is bringing more people to wonder about God than all the programs a church can put together. Who would have thought that three months ago? The questions for you now are: Do you wonder about this God? Do you know how to find restoration for your soul? If you were to die today, do you know where you are going? Look to the Cross, for it cannot be dismissed. Only there you will find your answer.
