Psalm 33:4

For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does ~ Psalm 33:4

 

In our 21st c. world people are losing some definition of what is true. We live in a world of “fake news”, of sensationalism in web sites and social media, of rumors and claims from unreliable sources which make headlines, and all are disguised as “facts.” People today follow the loudest voice without checking first the validity of the statement. We tend to want to believe what we think to be true and avoid anything which may challenge our belief system. Those who prey on the weak have found them in these days of covid19. Many have believed in the scammer’s email, or link on the internet and have lost not only finances, but information that is personal and private, as well as their new-found feelings of vulnerability. When we live without the Lord, all other truth seems viable, but it is not. When we live without the Lord, the world which says there are many truths are believable. When we live in the world without the Lord, truth is what makes me happy. When we live in the world, we follow like sheep all the other voices for we do not know the voice of Truth, that is, the voice of Jesus Christ our Lord. Every word He speaks is Truth and it is right and just. Our God is a wise God, and all He does is done in Truth. He is the only faithful one, and if we feel vulnerable right now, if we feel we have been “taken in” by deceivers, there is only One to turn toward, and that is the Lord Jesus Christ. He will not scam you for He already knows all about you. He will not lead you astray, He will not fill your mind and heart with “fake news”, on the contrary, He will enlighten you as never before. Only in Him can you find this assurance! Only in Him can you find real Truth!
