Genesis 12:2, 3

 “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you” ~ Genesis 12:2, 3


 This is a literal promise to the Jewish people, and a spiritual promise to those who through faith believe in the God of Abraham, which now are called Christians. We who follow Jesus and His ways are included in the promise of God for blessings upon our lives. These promises do not only include the blessings in this lifetime in which we live, but also include promises which will be revealed to us in our eternal life. We have been adopted into God’s family, which gives us the privilege the Lord offered to Abraham and his descendants. All that knew Abraham were blessed. We read this through Scripture and the stories of the Old Testament. Many were encouraged by his faith in the God he believed in and followed. Though Abraham did not know where he was being led, he followed in faith. Though he had to wait many years for his offspring, his faith proved it so, and the Israelite nation grew and expanded. And from this lineage, the Christ arrived and took on flesh, and it is through Him we are so very blessed! We are saved from our sins, from our stains which divide us from the holy God. We are, as I said, now adopted and therefore co-heirs with Jesus Christ!!! We are justified, sanctified, and offered eternal life! We need not fear covid-19, or and sickness; we need not fear death for we are promised a home in heaven! All spiritual blessings are ours in the name of Jesus! Praise God and Hallelujah!

Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert ~ Isaiah 43:19 When we meet a challenge, we are often found discouraged, lost, even hopeless. Nothing is working, everything seems to be against us. We do not know how to move forward, so we remain curled up in a ball. Then, a glimmer of light shines through!
