Psalm 121:1, 2

I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth ~ Psalm 121:1, 2

I was just reading that today marks the 6th month since the World Health Organization officially declared a COVID-19 a pandemic. March 11, 2020 announced there were over 118,000 cases of coronavirus worldwide. As of today, that number stands at more than 28 million, with global deaths exceeding 900,000. And this is not over. We have not come to the end of counting the loss, the grief, the hopelessness, the reactions, the anger, the deaths. We are waiting for scientists, for leaders, for people to wear their masks, for this pandemic to stop. How many are looking to the hills of heaven, and searching for the God they all left behind years ago, or were never taught about because their parents or grandparents left the Creator God of the universe behind so many years ago? How many of those deaths were persons who did not know Jesus as Saviour and are now lost souls, banned from heaven. Oh, I know, everyone goes to heaven in this day and age, right? Wrong! Our body is a shell for our spirit, and our spirit will one day either have a home with Jesus, or be separated forever from Him. We cannot enter heaven with sprits and souls that have fought against Him, that have rejected Him, and turned away. The help we need for our spirit is found by looking to the God of the heavens, the Father of Jesus Christ the Son, the giver of the Holy Spirit. We will suffer in this world, it is a given, but as Romans 8:18 says, “the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” Without the Lord in our heart, without looking to Him for help, we are lost to that glory. Do not take that risk today. We never know what tomorrow will bring. Receive Jesus as your Saviour. Look up! He is waiting there for you!
