Psalm 143:10

Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground ~ Psalm 143:10

It is interesting and exciting to watch a child learn something new. They will keep at it until either they can say the new word, or put a block in the correct hole, or until they can take a step on their own. Most children have an uncanny way of not being frightened of learning something new, or to block their learning processes. It is an inner hunger they have that needs to be filled. It should be the same for us as adults. We must have an inner hunger for God to reveal Himself and His will to us so that we can and will follow Him. We must have an attitude of teachableness, a sense of our own ignorance when it comes to God’s ways, as well as the greatness of Him who is God. We must have a sense of humility when we come before the Lord God, for our pride will certainly block our learning. We serve the Lord Jesus who desires that we follow Him in all our ways and in all our days. The Christ follower really lives a life of excitement, for the Holy Spirit may lead us into unknown territory. And, here is the tidbit – the more we follow the Spirit’s leading, the more we have been taught, the more God will reveal to us His will. Asking the Lord God to lead us on level ground is asking for His guidance into a place where we will not stumble or fall into error. His Holy Spirit is good, righteous, and true. When we follow Jesus, we desire to be led into the land He is calling us toward so that we will fulfill His will in our life. Lead me on, Lord Jesus! May I follow you wherever you lead me!
