Jeremiah 31:3

The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness ~ Jeremiah 31:3


God has always loved you! When we as humans fall in love, it is a process. We meet someone we are attracted to and we begin to talk and have a relationship of getting to know each other, and then one day, we realize we are in love. Not so with God! God already knew you, and me, before we knew Him. God loved us before we loved Him! And, His love never, ever has changed, or been diminished, He has not reacted to our offences against Him as we do with each other. There is nothing which has made His love be less than what it is and has been from the beginning of time, even before you and I were born! At first, this love was for the people of Israel alone, but with the incarnation of Jesus Christ and the rejection that He was the long awaited Messiah, a plan of God’s, again from before time, was put into place, and we were included! Jeremiah preached through the exile in Babylon to the Jewish community, but His words are for us in our time. We who were desolate by nature, we who were miserable and captivated by and to the world and to sin, are all released by God’s love through Jesus Christ! His is the most powerful love, for you and I are prodigals who have come home through the greatest love there ever was: the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross! All our blessings of salvation flow freely from God’s everlasting love!

I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert ~ Isaiah 43:19 When we meet a challenge, we are often found discouraged, lost, even hopeless.
