Galatians 3:26-28

So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus ~ Galatians 3:26-28


There is no pecking order in the Christian faith community. We are all one the same level. Often people will select people with whom they place higher than others, either favouring them, or placing them on a “pedestal” of their own making. When God looks at you and me there is no comparison as to whom is better. He sees you as you are and loves you. He sees me as I am, and he loves me. He wants what is best for you and what is best for me. Paul had this to say to the Galatians to guide them against living in and under the law. We can do that too. We see one Christian doing something we would not do, and we make a judgment according to the “law”. As we are all adopted by the Spirit of God, we are one in him which means if you are led by God into how you spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and it is of the Holy Spirit’s leading, then others are to let you do what God has called you to do. We all have different gifts which Paul writes about in other writings. In this letter to the Galatians Paul concentrates of the Spiritual fruit with which we are to love each other. We are to love with joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. We have put our own desires behind us, and we live by the Spirit of God. When we live by the law, we become accusatory, judgmental, and proud. A Christian community cannot survive under these conditions, for soon there will be arguments, divisions, and destruction of that community. Jesus said, “If Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself, how then can his kingdom stand?” We are all one in Christ Jesus, let us not be divided.
