Psalm 55:22

Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken ~ Psalms 55:22


God will sustain you…it does not say that God will remove your burden but that he will hold you through it. That is a great relief when we are going through distress in our life. It gives us hope that though today may be dark, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and we just must keep walking toward the light, believing that God will work it out for us. We, when we are young Christians in the Lord, sometimes think God will remove our testing times, but when we are more mature we know that is not so. God knows this is where we grow. If life were all roses then our life would become weak, our faith would falter at every step that challenged us. It is when we are sustained by God through the difficult struggles that our faith will grow because those are more often the times when we will turn to God for help. When life is easy it is too easy for us to forget that our strength comes from the Lord and not from ourselves. We see this not only in history as we read through God’s word, but we see it in our life and in the lives of others. When life remains too uncomplicated, which by the way we really like, we begin to rely on our own strengths and talents. Always we must turn to the Lord for sustenance, for the word says he will never let us be shaken!
